Reflections on Blogging

One of the issues I've struggled with throughout the year with this blog is the question of what is it's purpose. I am sharing a part of my life. The beauty I see around the world.  The truth is I've struggled to find that with the climate in our country.

I've lost my inspiration because my job as a teacher is all consuming.
Yet the undeniable truth is that my first and greatest passion has always been writing. I don't care who reads this all I know is I need to write. I was meant to. If this blog can be that space for me then it will be.

In the next few weeks leading up to the end of the year, I will be doing recaps of the year describing and sharing different thoughts and feelings I've felt in 2018 through a series of blog posts! So look forward to that.

A surprising, pleasant thing I've learned as a dog owner is that there is a vast loving dog community. Getting Alexei and Amber was a really spontaneous thing. I didn't have much knowledge of dog ownership, I didn't think about the commitment or all it takes to have a dog. A dog is basically a child. It's a huge responsibility. A lot of what I've learned about properly caring for my dogs I've learned from other dog owners. Dog owners are always loving towards my dog, and full of tips, advice and wisdom which have been very useful to me in my journey into dog ownership. From tips about keeping my dogs healthy, to grooming, child birth and discipline they've given me so much advice and support. Rumi Reflection 1: "A Just Finishing Candle"

A Just Finishing Candle by Rumi A candle is made to become entirely flame. In that annihilating moment it has no shadow. It is nothing but a tongue of light describing a refuge. Look at this just-finishing candle stub as someone who is finally safe from virtue and vice, the pride and the shame we claim from those. What I love the most about poetry is that it's such a personal thing that no one can really be wrong in their interpretations because it's tied to our personal feelings, thoughts and experiences.  A Just Finishing Candle to me speaks of purpose and how pursuing our live's purpose can appear to waste our bodies and spirit just like the candle becomes a stub from it's flame. But it's purpose is to become just flame you and following your purpose will require everything of you. In that moment when you've given it all is when you'll shine your brightest just like the last flame of a candle.

Leaving would be running away from a pain that's torturing me but it would also be freedom, independence and the gaining of strength as an individual and the fulfillment of an important insatiable dream Yet I have promises to keep, I'm afraid to be alone and away from the people I love... I don't want to be alone anymore... I want to be with them I want their company too... their love always...and spend and share important moments with them since they're a big part of my happiness...they need me they depend on me, I can't just pick up and leave... This strange fear when I think about going away and leaving it all behind... does this mean that this is what I truly desire?
